Dode M37 replacement engine
Hi there,
I'm planning to get a non-running Dodge M37 (It only turns over) however that is not the issue, I did some research and found out about its atrocious MPG (6 mpg). I'm trying to find a more fuel efficient engine to put in it once I buy it, however I still want it to closely preform the same. Do you guys have any suggestions for fuel efficient engines I can put in it?

You need to change more than the engine to get decent MPG. I had a 1952 B3PW (the civilian version) and those 5.88 gears make them really slow. You don't need roads, but 30 mph is normal top speed. At 35 the engine is complaining and at 40 you're about to throw a rod. Now, I have seen military units with the slant 6, which is a little better, but you're not going to get great mileage.
