Default EGR issues. 1973 5.9 litre v8 360

Hi all. I have a 1973 360 v8 5.9 litre engine. Double barrel carberator. Everything is vacuum advanced/ controlled. I noticed the EGR was deleted as far as i can see. The charcoal canister was removed. I cant seem to keep the thing from stalling. Sometimes it idles high sometimes super low. Sometimes i have to hold brake peddle slightly and the fuel peddle slightly while putting it into drive or reverse. Then i have to feather the throttle to get it moving or it just stalls. It also back fired loudly a few times i was told it is running rich and i aggree it seems its getting to much fuel at times and not enough fuel at other times. Air filter new spark plugs new. Double and single ballast resistors are new voltage regulator new. Battery is good but alternator is needed. It seemed the issue was worse after a long drive afterwords i replaced spark plugs. Almost seemed worse. Hard to tell i did not run it for long. Also under the hood there is a round plastic canister i believe to be a vacuum multiplier. There is 2 small rubber hoses going to it. I may have mixed up the tubes i do not no how to tell if i have my hoses hooked up properly. I want to find a charcoal canister but i cant seem to find one i can find filters. I want everything back to original. I dont exactly no where the EGR valve is located or where to hook it up to. Idk the carberator very well. So idk wich port is for wich vacuum line or wich line goes to the canister. Any help would be appreciated. Im hoping to find detailed information and pictures on the carberator but not having any luck.
