Default Las Vegas - Nick's Transmission Dodge / Chrysler A904 A727 A518 A618 46RE 48RE

He has an ad on Craigslist, he is in the Vegas area. When I called I just left a voicemail, the greeting explains that it is the number to 'Nick's Transmission'.

Anyone have information on or dealt with that facility?

Here is the link to the ad:
https://lasvegas.craigslist.org/pts/...797521855.html

His telephone number is in the 'reply' icon of the ad.
Thanks in advance.

I only know Nick from the forums, I think he has a few youtube videos out also. He hangs out on the Silverado forums ..... For those of us blessed with chebby trucks

Over there in that forum he is a wealth of information for anyone. And very prompt .... He ask you to pm him and give the information for your vehicle, he quickly responds and offers any help he can ... and he is good. For any vehicle.
I also find him to be honest, for my 1993 Dodge Caravan he came out and said he was not familiar with that specific vehicle ..... 30 year old soccer moms car.

I have never met in person or paid him to do work .... I would trust him to be fair and do a 100% professional job.

Yes. I can't help but agree with you. He just returned my voicemail and spent a good amount of time with me over the telephone. Very professional.

He helped me figure out what kind of transmission it is, more than 90% likely it's a 904. Also gave me a ballpark on the rate to a core exchange; also explained the issue that I'm having with the reverse (no reverse gear) is a known issue and not huge. Explained how to tell if the transmission needs to be rebuilt or not. Explained what needs to be replaced to get the reverse working again. Also offered to give me help over the telephone once I figure out if that repair is the issue and how to tackle it, and went over the basics of what it would entail.

The way he described it, it sounds like it's about as complicated as replacing a water pump or a brake cylinder, and that it can be done in a driveway. He does have a YouTube channel and he says that a few of his videos show the process that needs to be done as a part of a larger video, so yes I am glad I found this fellow.

He does core exchanges but not R&R, so you have to bring your transmission to him. I may have to do that, but it is beginning to sound like it is probably much more minor. Anyway thanks for getting back to this topic. I was going to post something similar, after he had called me. Very nice fellow and very professional.
