Increase performace???
Hey,
I have a 2003 dodge dakota 4.7l with 83,000 miles. Everything is stock but the Flowmaster 40 series i just added. I want to increase my speed, and horsepower. My dads buddies told me not to put a K&N cold air intake on because it will have troubles running and startingin the cold.. Is this true? Also what could I do to increase my performance besides the air intake?
Thanks

the K&N CAI or FIPK is really a warm air intake, just helps lessen intake restriction, cold air is a good thing for horsepower, not for your fuel economy, any engine will have a hard time starting in the cold but once the engine is at operating temps, you can run her in the artic, granted your gonna really screw with your fuel mixture but she will run fine, your truck is fuel injected electronically controled... tell your dad's buddies that there is no carb or choke involved with this so need to worry about it... as in performance wise, look around the boards and you will find what you need
Hey man , i have a 2001 with a 4.7 . i put an intake and did my exhaust that helped out alot . if you really want to go all out u can put headers , chip , aftermarket intake manifold , cams,or even a super charger . good luck with modding your truck
