Well i'm looking to buy a truck, and i have my eyes set on a dakota but i dont know anybody who has one and i want to know more about them. I'm looking at an 04 4x4 with the 3.7 V6 if anyone could let me know how there truck is it would be greatly appriciated.

3.7 v6? thats odd, do you mean 3.9?

 

no they started using the 3.7 in the 04 models, my truck is great, i mean they last forever, ive had no major problems with it, all stupid stuff that i caused, and the 6 is fine around town, but lacks high end grunt on the highway or for towing, or at least in my experience

 

Ive got a manual tranny so i just mash the gas pedal in 3rd, and she"ll do about 65 mph around 4000rpms
i have all the grunt i need out of a v6

 

I wouldn't do it. This was the wrong engine for this truck. The Dakota's are heavy trucks, and are close to the height and weight of a full-sized truck. The V-6 is awefully sluggish and gets poor gas mileage. If you get a Dakota; get the v8.
