Having serious problems!!
Ok well i have this knocking sound in my dakota but it only does it after the engine starts running at normal temp. i took it to dodge and they said the engine was fine, what could this be and how would i fix it??? please help!
my only question to you right now is what grade of gass are you using? I know it may sound strange, but it might have somthing to do with it. the fuel is more volitle when heated up. or should I say the flash point may be low? what ever you may be geting pre ignition is all I am saying.
Where does the noise come from? Whens the last time you did a tune-up? Take a look at the spark plugs and look for anything abnormal on the ends of them (sometimes indicating a problem).
i know what the problem is. the 195 stat is giving you the knock. what is happening is the when the truck reaches op. temp the octane in the fuel is not happy. a cooler stat like a 1802 will fix this problem. napa has the 180 stat for the 5.2-5.9-4.7 . all the same stat # 530080 switch it out and see if it goes away they are under 10.00
