I have 93 dodge dakota.Windshield wipers quit.I changed the 20 ampfuse in fuse box but that didnt help.Is ther another fuse somewhere or is the problem the motor for wipers.
You can hear a hum.Is there anyway to know for sure if it is the motor or the switch?I checked on the price and both parts will run about 65.00 each. Thanks
expose the motor and disconnect the wiring harness and use a voltage tester. you should find 4 wires. hi speed, lo speed, park circuit, and ground. you're looking for 12 volts on either hi or lo depending on where the switch is set. 12 volt on park circuit whenever on low or high (- this is what makes the wipers stop at the bottom of the windshield instead of random whereever). also must have good ground (if ground wire is included) if wiring reads differently than this, its a switch, fuse, relay or wiring problem. if wiring matches this - then its motor.
