I have the 2001 4.7L version of dakota, without tow package. Which transmission do I have? Also, does it have bands or anything that need adjustment? It seems to shift kinda sloppy on occasion, I was thinking about a shift kit.

The 4.7L had the 45RFE, no bands. There are, however, two filters. A typical type (called primary filter), and a spin-on filter (called the cooler return filter).

 

Ok, that's good to know that I don't have to adjust anything, but I will check into changing the filters. Thanks.
