Hello, newbie here. Here is the story. My son blew the motor on his truck, and yes he will pay for all of it, but I will do the labor. Its a 97 Dakota, 2wd, 3.9 Magnum V6. Of course I want to get the most for the money. Would it be best (price and ease)to get the same engine at the bone yard, or are there any other engines that are close to a "bolt up" if I decided to go bigger? Expensive adapters ect.? Just wanting to weigh my options. I drove it for three years before he got it, and it was a great truck. Other than that, I'm not familiar with Dodge. Thanks in advance!

 

The computer is what limits you to a 3.9 .
