Default transmission slipping from stop

Hi, I have a 2000 Dakota. The transmissionhas recently started slipping when I start from a stand still. This happens more when it's cold more than when it's hot. Is there any type of adjustment in the transmission or am I going to have to have this one rebuildor replaced?

Thanks.

check your fluid. If it is dark brown and or smells burnt, replace it. If it is low on the dipstick, top it off.
