Default cylinders 1 and 3 misfiring

Hey! We're brand new to Dodge and this forum but we already have a problem. We just got a 2007 Dakota Quad Cab 6 cyl truck. Bought it used, it was a lease vehicle. Has 18000 miles on it and was apparently garage kept. Not a mark on it.This truck is beautiful, no doubt about it! Fire engine red, with a great ride up until last week. We had it for 2 days.It started idling really rough and has intermittant problems that occur at any time while running down the road. When it happens, the truck vibrates so bad you can see the bed shake pretty hard. (I know because I followed it down the road yesterday while my husband drove it back to the Dodge dealership for the 2nd time) The first time we were there we were told bad gas.I don't think they even ran a diagnostic on it. Didn't have time to argue so we drove it till almost empty and refilled at another station. No change, in fact it might have gotten a little worse. Hubby got uh...irritated, drove it to his dadsand put it on the code reader that his dad has. It shows mis-firing on cylinders 1 and 3. Straight back to the dealer where it now sits. I hate to ask but is this common? We checked car fax and this truck is clean with only regular maintenance showing.

We bought this truck to replace our 88 Chevy truck that had over 300k problem free miles on it but was finally starting to give up on us. Would have gone with another Chevy but from what we've heard, they ain't what they used to be. We loved the look of the Dodge and hadn't heard anything bad saw this truck and went for it. Thanks for any insights!

well im not a mechanic but when my old car was misfiring, it was because i changed the plug wires and i had them in the wrong slot on the coil, but since its got such low miles i doubt the plug wires were changed, my guess is something electrical, or the computer itself?

could be bad plugs, bad injectors, bad coil packs, or a bad sensor. Is there a different dodge dealer nearby? Sounds like this dealer is gonna give you the run around. if its an '07 with 18K miles it should be covered under warranty anyways.

Thanks for the fast replies!

Yes, the truck is under warranty but I figure that's why they really don't care if they fix the problem or not. They were supposed to work on it today but we haven't heard anything about it yet. I'm just hoping this is a fluke type of thing and that it won't happen again. My fear is that it will be an ongoing problem. (can you tell I am a cynic? lol) Yes, we are thinking about finding another dealer if it happens again. Like you guys, we are thinking fuel injectors, coil packs or the computer. I didn't mention it before but this truck is an SLT...not sure if that makes a difference. I have been reading around this site quite a bit and haven't found another post that sounds exactly like what this Dakota is doing. The little alarm it has will go off and less than a second later, the engine light comes on,the tach needle drops a little and the roughness starts. [:'(]

Thanks again! At least it doesn't sound like a common problem. But then, that might not be so good either! [&:]

Update--

The Dodge dealership is sticking with their story that it's a bad tank of gas. They apparently had to drop the gas tank to clean it out...I hope they cleaned the injectors etc too. (didn't get to ask since they left a message on our machine.) We're supposed to pick it up tomorrow at 10AM so I guess we will find out then. In all the years we have had cars and trucks, I have never known a bad tank of gas to mess up a vehicle so badly. Wow! It sure gave a whole new meaning to "Shake, Rattle and Roll!"
