How do I reset the "maintenance required" light on my 1989 dodge Dakota.</P>

 

Hmmm... try unplugging the battery for a bit to reset the computer maybe?

Idisconnected the negative terminal from the battery for about 5 minutes. The maint. req'd light is still on. Any other ideas??</P>

 

Hmmmm.... I would next check the EGR Valve... that'll trip a light.

If disconnecting the battery didn't reset it, something must be tripping the light.
