Default Electrical Problem on 1987 Dakota

Hi, I have recently had a problem somewhere in the wiring of my truck. A couple weeks ago all of the turn signals stopped functioning. I checked the bulbs and fuses, and nothing was wrong there. A few days later they began working again for about a day, then stopped and haven't worked since. Then, a week after that my speedometer/odometer gauges stopped working. Occassionally the needle on the speedometer would jump around erratically, but hasn't moved in a while now. Sometimes the odometer records miles, sometimes it doesn't. Now today the brake light on the driver's side went out. I checked the bulb and some of the wiring but nothing seemed wrong. I belive there must be a failure of some sort in the electrical systems somewhere, but I'm less then a novice at automotive electricion. Anyone have any thoughts on what the problem may be, or possible solutions? Thanks
