Stripped Dakota Brake Caliper Bolts
Any suggestions to take care of stripped threads on the brake spindle of my 94 4WD Dodge Dakota...I replaced the bolts with new ones but the receiving threads on the female side are stripped. They are the lower ones on both front sides that someone else screwed up after a DIY job. Do they make oversized caliper bolts for this situation? Any other possiblities?

Putting in a helicoil will make it stronger than the threads in the casting if there is meat left to install the coils. I pulled the threads out two boltholes on each of my aluminum calipar brackets. After putting in 4 coils ,I never had a lose one. Every two weeks they use to pull me down from 144 mph.

had the same issue with my 98 dakota sport only on the drivers side, drilled it out and put a helicoil to match the thread of the original caliper bolt. It was an odd size. i forget actually what it was but I know it was hard to find.
