I had the tie rods and a few other things done and it was $500 (brakes, oil change, etc... I'm getting lazier as I get older).

I have a 98' dakota sport w/5.2 v8, and I just had the upper & lower ball joints replaced along with the upper control arm bushings(the lower arms were still in good shape), and the inner & outer tie-rods, & the stabilizer link kits. Both sides were replaced. parts cost me $350.00 & labor cost me $480.00. I purchased Spicer brand parts. Don't get factory replacements, they can't be serviced. Good luck!!
