2005 Dodge Dakota Picture!
A lot of talk over at the allpar.com forums about the $16,000 M-80 taking the production regular cab Dakota's place! that could be why, so they don't conflict the cost of one another since they are built on the same platform.

I DON'T GET IT. THE SIX SPEED W/ THE HO ENGINE WOULD BE SWEET. WHY WOULD THEY NOT OFFER THAT COMBO. I KNOW SOMETIMES IT IS BECAUSE OF THE MAXIMUM POWER THE TRANSMISSION CAN HANDLE. BUT, COM'N. THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO HANDLE THE EXTRA, WHAT, 30 FT LBS OF TORQUE. MAYBE THEY DONT WANT IT FASTER THAN A HEMI RAM STOCK, AND FOR THOUSANDS LESS. MAYBE THEY FIGURE PEOPLE WHO WOULD OPT TO PAY EXTRA FOR THE HO WOULD'NT DRIVE ANYTHING BUT AN AUTO.

A picture of the waiting to be unveiled 2005 Dodge Dakota at the Chicago Auto Show... Press Days start tomorrow (2/4/04) and last till 2/6/2004.
