Default any suggestions?

hey guys i have a 03 Dakota with 75 thousand miles. it runs great but there is a weird popping noise in the steering when you accelerate out of a turn and break into a turn. my mechanic i use replaced all the shocks but it didn't fix the problem. i heard about the recall a while back about the upper ball joints so could that be the noise I'm hearing. my wheel hasn't fallen off and every story i hear about people who have bad ball joints said it flew off there cars. any suggestions from anyone on what part is broken or worn out

there is a recall on all the ball joints lower and upper. these ball joints are riveted into place. when they break free from the rivets they move around inside the control arm socket.they dont fall off. you need to get it replaced, because it will wear through the control arm

i actually called my dealer today and asked if my truck had a recall on it and they said it didn't it was only a certain few between a couple of months so if it's not my ball joints what else could it be

im pretty sure that ALL 03s were covered by the recall check this website w/ you VIN number and if it hasnt been done get it done

http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/

you can also take the wheel off and see ift he ball joints are bolted on or riveted on to see if they have been replaced
