i have a 91 dakota. unable to sell it. seems no one wants a good running truck cheap. so decided to fix it up. needed to drive while doing repairs so decided to buy an engine and tranny to rebuild then install in mine. bought a 92 dakota. same gen right? big mistake. long story short. the heads were cracked and then in the search for heads found out the engines are different. so now my question is, " are the blocks the same?" can i just get a pair of '91 heads and rebuild the block and basically have a rebuilt '91 motor to install?

 

It is the same generation but but changes made inbetween those years. Try reposting in the 1st gen dakota forum. This will give you much more responses.
