Default Have performance question

I have an 04 Dakota club cab with 4.7L V-8 and I recently installed a flowmaster 50 series on it. I looking for cold air intake for it but with so many manufactures out there it makes things a little diffucult. I've seen a cold air intake with two air filters on it and does any body know if these are any good and can I use a throttle body spacer on this engine. Also, what is the advantage if I use Royal Purple products? I'm looking to put subs in the rear and does anyone have a site where I may purchase a box. Thanks Hex

CAI: streetandperformanceelectrocnics.com has one that they make, also a TB spacer. 360degreez.com also has intakes, but they say the one i want only fits on the 2wd...which i will challenge next month.

Royal purple products have been known to do wonders. On HP TV they did a full fluid change on a late model Cammy, Dynoed it and had a 15HP gain. Im running it in my rear, and when it stays above 50 for 2 days, and its not raining, i will be filling my front diff, gearbox and transfer case. I use Mobil 1 motor oil as i have seen it used on our 84 Quattro URQ and did the head around 200K, still crosshatchings left on the cylinder walls. I was sold.

Subs can be gotten from MTX. They have a box that sits behind a rear seat, but only holds 1 10" sub. Cruise eBay and you can get them pretty cheap. Just make sure its a MTX, there are other companies that have ripoffs, which work, but not as well.

Default RE: Have performance question

here's my take on the questions.
i put a cold air intake from k&n on my 99 r/t. it worked great. the problem with my truck was that any aftermarket intake would rub on the underside of the hood. and that was without a carb spacer. they may have fixed this problem by now but something to look for.
now the question about the subs. my r/t is a club cab body style. go to www.crutchfield.com and look for a mtx thunderforms box. it takes the place of the pan under the rear seat(basically it relocates the jack to the center and has room for 2 10" subs). i paid just over $200 for the box and $99 for both subs(also mtx). it is an easy swap(about half a saturday or sunday).
