Default List of Known Mods for `05 Dakota v8 4.7l

This will be the page that i'll be working on and using when taking notes for my own `05 Dakota.

Things i wish to locate and use on my 05 Dakota v.8 4.7l.

Supercharger for `05 Dakota.

HO Cam (not surewhat else i would need for this upgrade) I would like suggestion of anything else that might as well be changed out while the engine is apart. (Does anyone know or have a Guess to what it would cost to have someone replace the Cam for me?

Does the 05 Dakota CC v8 4.7l engine come with a electric fan or is it a pully driven fan?
I heard Electric Fans are better and that you can gain 8-10hp, Is this true? i guess i need to find out if mine has one or not.

Traction Bars for Rear tires so they dont hop and skip when i punch on the gas.

Looking for a Ready to Bolt In K&N Cool Air Intake Kit for the `05 Dakota.

Superchips & 1 more chip maker cant remember name atm makes Chips up to 2003/2004 and None for the 2005 Dakotas. WTF

Shocks, I was a set of shocks other then Stock that will help hold me to the road and with a smooth ride over rough terrain. I have no plans on going lower with my truck.

Exhaust I've already got, I got a FlowMaster Delta Flow 40 Muffler single in duals out with 6" Black Chrome tips out the back.

Does anyone know the track 1/4 mile Speed and Times for a Stock Dodge Dakota v8 4.7l NoN HO and with performance cat back exhaust?

What Trucks / Cars on the street today could i take on and win in a race? I hear some S10 and Rangers are Fast. How about the 4.0l v6 Mustangs out there?

Headers: I had JBA headers before and man,... Boy did my engine run supper HOT... When it got to hot under the hood it would make my K&N Air Intake make a LOUD Whistle and when i was at red light or somthing people would look at me funny like there was something wrong with my truck, needless to say that was a noise i could have done without. Not sure tho, has anyone else ever hear their Intake Whistle while at a red light or when its at ldle for a long time?

hmmm,.. What Else. Well some day i'd like to upgrade the breaks to disc breaks all around.

Are there any Stock Spark Plugs or wiring that i could change out to help improve performance?
I love quick and easy things that can be done to make improvments.

The Axle Ratio i have for the truck is 3.92. I've never understood the whole Rear end Gear Axle Ratio Thingy i think smaller is faster on take off and less torgue highend, i think.

The truck also came with Anti-Spin Differentials i think this is something new to this years model because i've read where otheres were wishing that theyre track had it so i think the Anti Spin Diff is a Good think, I think it keeps or stops having only 1 tire spin when taking off, Please correct me if i'm wrong.

This is my dream list so far as of tonight. If you have suggestions, corrections, or advice i'd be more then happy to listen to what you have to say.

The numerically larger the axle ratio is, the better for acceleration (to a point). The number tells you both how much the gear changes the speed (3.92=3.92 turns of the input for every turn of the output) and how much it multiplies torque (3.92 will multiply input torque 3.92 times -- if input is 100 lb-ft, output is 392 lb-ft.) The "anti-spin" is another term for "limited-slip" or some people call it a traction-lock (ford) or positraction (GM). It's been available on previous Dakotas too.

Most of the newer 4.7s have an electric fan and a clutch driven fan. The clutch driven fan is supposed to be fairly easy to remove and you should replace it w/ an additional electric fan because the stock electric will only kick on w/ ac and high temperature and prob. isn't designed with a high cfm to take the bulk of the work.

Build your own high-flow intake. You can make a powershot or any kind you like w/ mandrel bent exhaust tubing or abs plastic. There are many threads on dakota forums debating best materials used. I built mine for $100 and its kinda like the 360airintake style. Beware, K&N are prone/known for cracking.

Limited slip is a plus, no one wheel burnout syndrome for you. Better traction on and off road.

Rancho RSX have good reviews, have not read any negatives by a dakota owner. They adjust to conditions and should be good on and off road. Do not know if they make for 05 yet.

heh,.. Yup i'm still looking.
I got a Summit Racing Catalog in the mail a few weeks ago and a lot of the mod show in BIG Letters Now 2005 Applications But when i called them on a few items they didnt have any for the 2005 Dakota's. The guy says that he thinks most of the new stuff they have for dodge are for the Full size 2005 Rams because those were listed when he looked up mine. If someone happens to come across some or pretty much anything at this point, Please let me know.
If your interested you can come by my website and check out more photos and videos of my truck that i've done. I need some site links to so if you know any post them up to please.

Thanks Guys and Gals.

Jim.
