It's hard to find fault with the K&N system except for the fact they aren't available for everything! There are other choices though. I also have a 2001 Dakota Q/C with the 4.7 in it. I installed an AIRAID system and realized significant performance gains. Check 'em out at www. airaid.com. They have a system specifically for our 4.7's.

You could also check out Volant's intake. I don't know much about their intake for trucks but they are highly looked apon in some of the sport compact market.
I've been debating on getting one of their systems as I think it'd match nicely with my flowmaster exhaust.

i put a k&n air intake on my 99 r/t. i had a problem with it not clearing the hood. the top of the intake was rubbing the underside of the hood which resulted in it breaking.

I found a cold air intake for my '01 4.7L on ebay!! It's not a K&N, but all you are paying for is the name. Mods for the 4.7 are hard to find, but keep trying, they're out there!

i wouldnt go with a K&n...at least for the 04s, they published the dyno results....absolutely no gains...im waiting on streetandperformance.com to finish one, and 360degreez.com to finish thier prototyping for the 4x4...they ebay ones should be ok, just make sure they properly maintain the IAT sensor and such...
