i own one, bought it new in 89, love the truck, they should have put the shelby 318 in it though. blue book values are way low from what ive seen them sell for. used to a couple near me but i have not seen one in maybe 10 years

the convertible option adds about 400 to the dakota package. hardtop about 3300.00, convertible around 3700.00 according to kelly bluebook for a low mileage truck in good condition. more realistically the trucks sell between 5k and 8k and one went over 15 k a few years ago and it wasnt a mint truck. here is the slowest truck site out there, not many of us, they should open a drop top site here on this board or maybe a site for convertibles, shelbies, red expresses etc

Man, that truck was in good shape too. It's probably a crushed square block some where now. Cash for clunkers? Wouldn't it be a classic or something being 20 years old ?

a just wondering, has someone attempted to make one?it would be a sick project truck and with a 318 in it that would be sweet. Just think telling people that you made a truck a convertible, the look on there face when they see it would be classic. even more grate if you take it wheeling.

To me a 4x4 has far less interest than a 2WD truck as a convertible. If I had a dakota convertible The 4x4 would have to go... I would do it up and take it to shows.
