Son rolled & totaled my '94 Dakota 4x4.No injuries, thank goodness. Been looking at a '03 Dakota 4x4. What can I expect in power gains, mileage, etc. Gotta stick with the V8 4x4. Would think the newer would get better mileage.

 

It all comes down to what you want to spend. I like the 3rd gens and the latest Dakota. You should look at the GMC canyon or sierra, too.

 

The 5.2 V8 Magnum and modern 4.7 V8 are equal in power. The 4.7 gets better MPG. More aftermarket support for the 5.2 though.
