I HAVE A 2000 DAKOTA R/T AND IT IS LEAKING COOLANT FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE ON THE FIREWALL UNDER THE HOOD. THERE IS A SMALL TUBE IN THIS AREA THAT POPS OUT ABOUT AN INCH. IT SEEMS LIKE THE LEAK IS COMING FROM THE SEAL THAT IS AROUND THAT TUBE. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON?

dakrt2000,

That tube is the drain for the A/C Evaporator .,,,, Seems way too soon to have a heater core leaking , but that's the story !!!!

Sorry,

RE: 2000 R/T COOLANT LEAK PASSENGER SIDE FIREWALL
those seals you see are not to keep fluid from leaking, they are just to keep the box air tight. the heater core tubes are solid from outside the firewall all the way to the core, if you have coolant coming out of the evap drain tube you need to pull the dash and remove the HVAC housing. Heater core is leaking somewhere and is not servicable, just get a new one.
