30' TT 8200LBS with 750 Tongue using a W/D hitch, sway bar and a Prodigy P3 brake controller


That's within my tongue weight allowable using a W/D and 200 over the total using a W/D on my hitch and about 2,000 over what Dodge says I can pull.

 

No pictures but earlier this year I pulled a dual axle hydraulic dump trailer loaded with concrete a couple of times. Weight probably ranged between 1-2 tons. I put to much weight on the front of the trailer once and it ended up bending my tow package and bumper down a little, but the 4.7 V8 with 3.55s seemed to not mind all the load.

Oh and I found this. I fit 14 people, 2 kegs, and a lot of tailgating equipment on the factory suspension.

I tow this around pretty regularly. Not sure what it weighs, but it's pretty heavy.

 

I have had my 99' 3.9 2wd Loaded higher than the cab with 1 ft diameter (I think) pieces of wood. Had er' riding on the bump stops ! Hah. Hauled it without a problem

 

Hauled in a load of scrap from some property I was clearing. 1420lbs plus my tool box full of tools. The old leafs were bent backwards but the truck handled it no problem.

 

I Pulled a 1978 dodge power wagon with mine once. did fine till i reached a hill. then i could hear my tranny crying. but did a good job.

 

I tow a 4 horse trailer all the time
but biggest was a full size Caddy on a 4 wheel ramp trailer

Down Cajon pass it was manual low- 25 MPH

A few years back a buddy of mine bought a CJ7 off Ebay. He won the auction at like 3 AM on a Friday, and called me that afternoon to see if I was up for a road trip. We left about 8pm for Virginia, [roughly 1k miles from my house] dragging an empty tandem Uhaul car trailer... This was the picture from the ebay ad:


We arrived, he did his deal and I loaded everything up. Unfortunately for my poor truck, both the seller and my buddy neglected to mention several things prior to this trip, such as this Jeep [ that was actually sitting on 44" or so super swampers] came with a complete spare set of tires and rims [in the 35" range, maybe the ones from the pic], both hard and soft tops, complete, including doors, a complete pickup bed's worth of spare parts including a spare rear axle [minus brakes], TWO (2) spare front axles, a spare transfer case, and to top it off, about 80% of a spare motor [block, heads, random parts] The guy just kept coming out of his garage with more stuff.

We had to go to Home Depot to by more straps to tie everything down, and I ended up buying 4 sheets of 3/4 plywood and strapping them onto the trailer between the ramps so we could load more crap.

On the way back, I was getting like 5 mpg with my '99 5.2, and less in the mountains. Just for grins I pulled into a scale at a truck stop in Ohio to see how much I was hauling. The scale operator about had a coronary when I came in because I was just shy of 14k pounds. He actually yelled at me because I was so far overweight that he couldn't have me on his scale or some such nonsense, and then refused to give me the weight ticket for the same reason... At least it wasn't a mystery why it was averaging me 2-3 miles to get up to speed on the highway, anymore.


We arrived back at my house at about 2AM Monday morning, and I made it to work at 8... Ah, to be young and stupid again...

 

when i first got my truck i helped a buddy tow his pop up from his camp site because he got a bigger trailer and couldnt have two there, dry weight of the pop up was 3400 lbs i believe, it was one of the bigger jayco's if i recall. My truck pulled it along at the speed limit which was 55 mph and on the flat parts i was able to use overdrive but as soon as i seen an incline i shut overdrive off. Ive also pulled my grandpas 5x10(the trailer is home built and is heavy by itself weighs a good 1,000 lbs) with numerous different loads. 1 was 2 trips with 4,000 lbs of concrete on the trailer to the local dump. another time i used it to help a friend get 6x8 fence panels from menards. each panel weighted 100 lbs dry, and they were wet, they had to be an extra 30 lbs each(maybe more maybe less idk) and i think we got 20 panels along with 10 4"x4" 6' posts. And ive hauled various riding mowers with it because i work on small engines in my spare time.
Now for things Ive hauled in my truck have been scrap metal which ranges from 500-1400 lbs, ive hauled a yard of sand (wet!) probably 10 different times, 200 8" patio blocks from menards, two separate trips tho Lol. yard and a half of mulch half a dozen times.
