Dakota gas mileage
Hey all; new here. Not new to the net, just here.
Averaging 16 US mpg. '04 QC 4x4, 4.7.
Incidentally, I wrote a program to calculate fuel economy and convert between mpg, g/100m, L/100Km, km/L; in US and imperial gallons.

Right now, If I do 80% on the highway, and 20% in the city, I can average about 15.1 - 15.3 mpgs. I live 8 miles from work, and 6.5-7 of them are hwy. That's with the 4.7L QC.
On the hwy, I can get anywhere from 17.5 - 18.5. I can usually get about 380 miles off of one tank.

All time high today of 14.8 MPG highway @73 MPH,

Usually 16 - 18 mpg on a mixed tank of city / highway driving.
The best I've gotten is 21 mpg all highway.
I'm putting in a new air filter, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor this week before a 250 mile road trip, so hopefully I can break 21 this weekend.
This is in a 2003 3.9L atx club cab SXT.

Wow, talk about resurrecting posts from eternal death.
My '96 3.9L 4x4 gets about 12MPG city (my "city" trips are about 1.5miles).
Highway: Average around 18-19 at 70MPH with A/C. Around 17 at 80MPH with A/C. Top mileage was 19.3 at 65MPH with A/C. Based on my records, my mileage can fluctuate around 1-3MPG highway going the same speed (i.e. one tank I'll get 18, the next I might get 17). Of course, this could be because of differant terrain, or quality of gas.
When I first got my truck, I couldn't break 16 under the same driving conditions, so I guess it just needed a few thousand miles thrown to it
.
Also, it's totally stock at this time.
