Loud click or tap noise/cylinder 4 missfire
So, i'm new here but Im hoping to get some input, I have a 2004 dodge dakota 4x4, 3.7L with 130k miles
when I start my truck I get a loud click/tap noise. It sounds like if you were to hit the manifold with like a piece of metal or something.
I replaced the coil pack, and the spark plug, and the noise persists, I then replaced the injector, still noise and misfire code.
Could this be a lifter noise? I looked at alot of videos for lifter noise and it all seemed much quieter and more rapid.
When I unplug the coil pack the noise completely stops, I pulled the new plug to look and it was black..
The noise is probably every other second and is MUCH louder when accelerating, and it speeds up, but it does seem to kind of go away at a higher speed at least momentarily.
I'm going mad trying to figure it out.
Any input greatly appreciated.
