I just got a 96 dodge dakota sport with a 3.9 and it has a noise coming from the motor..kind of a rattling noise. My friend has a van with the same motor and the same exact noise. Anyone know. I have been told it may be the belt tensioner of the timing chain. Not sure about the timing chain though because it doesn't do it all the time.

Maybe its the bearing from the AC compresor. Mine has a sound like that but only when AC is working.

Have you had any problems with the Fuel pump over heating.
