i got stuck with my dads 96 s10 when he got his 02 ram. But i wish i had a 03 dakota. Man i would drop a 528 hemi in that thing with a pair of turbos. it would be awesome.
If you do that to it your s-10 will kick the Dakotas' butt. A pinto wagon with half the spark plugs gone will win. You'll be sittin' there in a cloud of smoke followed by two pop sounds as your tires explode from the spinning. The thing wouldn't be able move. As soon as it's put in gear the tires are gone. And if you tubbed the bed and put steamroller tires on it with wheelie bars you would simply be holding on for dear life.
Well, I had a 94 s-10 with the vortex 4.3 and had no complaints about power, thats for sure. But as a person of resale, whatever you end up doing don't forget one thing. That is will it look good and drive right. If you plan on selling it later to help you finance your next vehicle you have got to keep it in the market for that vehicle. I partially restored a 64 1/2 mustang and had 7,500.00 bucks in it and sold it for market at 5,200.00 dollars. And most people want something that looks right, if you know what I mean. Whatever you decide to do, good luck and be carefull.
