Super Daks
I was at the NHRA Nationals last weekend with a few friends of mine and to my amazement a Dakota took second place in Pro-Stock. I tried to catch up with the driver in the pits but he was nowhere to be found. I talked to the guy in the lot next to him and he said that besides the Pro-Stocker the same guy drives a blue '00 Dakota 5.2 with a 52mm Hughes throttle body, ported inake manifold, and milled Edelbrock heads, along with some kind of moderate cam, long tubes and true duals, a custom intake, plus some other stuff that I'm probably forgetting about (like the ECU... I think it was a SuperChip but I'm not sure) that he uses as his daily driver.
Anyways I thought that was pretty awesome, and I would like to thank that gentleman for giving all of us Dakota guys a hell of a good bragging right!

In Pro Stock?!? I think you may have confused it with another class. Either way, the NHRA experimented with Pro Stock Trucks in the past (maybe 5 - 10 years ago?), but they killed off that class. You'll still see some of those trucks running other classes though.
You're right. It was actually Pro-Gas/Pro-Street. Sorry, didnt even realize that until you mentioned it. In any event, his final race was against a 10-Second car that almost lost control at the end. Very fun race to watch, and a very fast Dakota regardless of class.
