CAMSHAFT BROKE ON A 2000 DAKOTA
I HAVE A 2000 DODGE DAKOTA SPORT WITH OVER 107,000 ON IT. I BOUGHT IT WITH 16,000 IN MAY 2001. IS IT NORMAL FOR A CAMSHAFT TO BRAKE APART. THE DODGE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME $7,000.00 FOR AN ENGINE AND LABOR. I NEED ANYONES OPINION ON WHAT I COULD DO. THANK YOU
No it's not normal, but if it were we would have pulled them long ago. Just one of those things-haven't seen it yet but who knows. I'd fix it-what else are you gonna do, trade in isn't worth dookie right now, and you don't want to fix just to get rid of it. Just fix it and keep it a while-Sorry.
truck will be fixed in a week. then i'm dumping it. i'm going with a car now. my truck days are over. good by V8 hello 4. gas is to high. not worth the money anymore. good-bye dodge fans.
