Proud owner of an '84 D150 in great shape but thinking of taking on a '94 Dakota w/4wd, 318, extended cab, 100k, one owner, for $5,000. Appears to be in really good condition. I have no interest in the 4wd but it's there.

I have no experience with them so am looking for any comments good or bad. Especially expected gas mileage. My '84 gets 13mpg but surely the '94 will be better?

My first Dak was a 94 Ex Cab Sport 4x4, and I loved it. I had to sell it due to some finical reasons. Depending on what type of driving you intend to do, if I rember right I got about 16-18 on the highway. I work for a construction company so I left my truck running nearly all day, esp in the summer(in TX) and used quite a bit of gas. And that was when it was $1/gal.
