My power door locks are giving me the blues ,they are making a lot of noise when the lock or unlock. I have a 4 door dakota and 3 out of the four are acting up. I beleave that the noise is from the actuators . I was wondering if there was a easy fix or if I need to replace them. Any secrets to replacing them ? Any place to buy the cheep online ?

If they're making noise they're probably shot and you're probably going to have to replace them.

 

my passenger doorlock is doing the same on my dakota. the dealer wanted like $200 for the motor, so I'm just gonna wait.

My grand cherokee has been doing it for awhile. Sounds like an old pinball machine when you hit the button. It doesn't get better and from looking inside with the door panel pulled, it doesn't look like an easy fix. Plus new actuators ain't cheap.
