first car...need help
hi everyone this is my first post because i just bought my first truck
its a 1988 Dakota 3.9 L. theres is a problem though, it seems to be cutting back when you first hit the throttle. Like its choking out, but when you push the petal slow and easy it seems to be ok, its like its not getting fuel fast enough. I just put new plugs in it and nothing, and the air lifter looks new and the wires look new too, i was thinking the fuel injecters were dirty, but if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it, or anyone has any other infomation for a new dakota owner thanks.

since you already change the spark plugs, i will take a guess the injectors might be dirty or the fuel pump might be gone bad!
Clean the entire EFI system plus the fuel pump change if posible, EFI might be dirty since it needs outside air comes through it.
ones you have done these and all power has return.
perioditicaly add a fuel injector cleaner to keep it clean.
and if your gas tank is made of steel, change to plastic to keep rust from reaching every where gasoline goes through.
Remember metal parts tend to ware off as the truck gets old. (Upgrade)!!!!!

its a little difficult since they have to take air docks and hoses. to get to the EFI.
i would recomend a mechanic special one not a cheap. some one who has work with it.
Wait for awhile someone over here might tell you a little more about your problem.
there some mechanics around here somewhere
