When i baught my 2000 dakota, i replaced the stock air filter with a K&N filter, it was $55.... i recently baught a $25 air filter cone, and put it on the end of my pipe and took my larger stock air filter box out.... and i've kind of noticed something like my truck isnt punching out as much HP as before, could this be to blame?... is the stock box w/ the K&N filter better then this cone i baught?.... i'm honestly not sure =/

 

it depends what kind of filter it is and where it is accumulating the air.

 

i just put a k&n filter in my dakota and i could tell a difference. it breathes a LOT better! i like it and i have one on all of my cars
