Default Old & New seeking tricks for the 04 3.7 V-6

First new vehicle since 85. Still waiting for the plates on my 04 Dakota SXT Quad CAb. So far, so good, but I enjoy a little more go power! Had to settle for the 6 for price & milage. It was a gift that had to be under 20K and dependable. I think I did good! Anyone have any advice on how to improve performance without voiding warrenteeeeeee?

Same here. Just traded in my '91 Dakota with 140k and picked up my new SXT last week. I've been a little disappointed to find that there seem to be very few performance options (air intake kits, etc..) available for the '04. At least for right now.....

i had custom billet roller rockers developed in a 1.7 ratio for your 3.9 as well as 5.2 and 5.9 magnum motors. your adding some lift and a touch duration which has dyno'd 15-20 hp . they are a simple bolt on with:

NO lash adjustment hassles - its all built into the rockers like your stock rockers
work with stock pushrods
work with stock springs
work with stock valve covers - no beating baffles
no guideplates to buy
no hardened pushrods to buy
jesel style using more stable shaft design

they take about 1 1/2hrs to install on V6 and only requires a 20 lb torque to the mounting bolts. these have been around since 1999 and hundreds have been in use. check out the pictures, same as the 5.9 rockers on my web site.

there are also custom throttle bodies available, headers, catbacks, nitrous kits ect. this club gets pricing preferrance so make sure to tell me your from our group.

Congrats! Dakotas are fun trucks to drive!

I have a website with a list of mods for the 4.7L Dodge Dakota, most of them will work for the 3.9L as well.

If you will notice, we're looking for go-fast parts for the 3.7L V6, not the 3.9 and not the V8s. I also have a new '04 SXT Club Cab. All I see right now are the Fastman throttle bodies and a K&N filter to go in the stock air box.

The air intake on the website should work. [:@] There are other mods listed that apply to the Dakota in general, if you even read the site. Funny, I do not see a website for your vehicle. I was trying to help, not criticize.

Not trying to criticize... From the research I have done, very few parts designed for the 3.9L carry over to the 3.7L. I was just trying to keep this post on track with the original topic. Of course you can make a PVC air filter adapter to fit any vehicle. I believe a lot of people would like to find one designed and made by a reputable company. I do like the idea of dropping the spare tire in favor of roadside assistance and reduced weight. [sm=smiley20.gif] Never would have thought of that. Selling the spare might even cover the first year's dues.

I guess that when you typed 3.9 in your post, that threw me off. Maybe it was a typo and you meant 3.7. If it appeared as though I came down hard, I apoligise.
