I don't know the exact dimensions, but i don know that an 8 3/4" rear out of an a-body mopar (Duster, Dart, Demon etc.) have the same dimensions from perch to perch. We installed one in a Dakota and it bolted right up. All we had to do was weld shock mounts on. You can also use one out a b-body (Roadrunner etc.), but you will have to move the spring perches as well but the b-body rear will give you more wheel backspacing options.

thanks lvd, well i was hopeing to compare the widths, i want wider wheels on my truck and 5 on 4.5 bolt circle.. and i was wondering how an explorer compared to the dak, i was thinking approx rear 3 inches shorter would be enough........ what are your opinions??

8.75 rear are getting hard to find here, and there are plenty explorer 8.8 with posi and disc brake set ups here....... just a thought,
