take it to a muffler shop( acheap shop not midas or anything like that)and have them dual it out, cut off the cat if legal, put flowmasters or magnaflows on it

Cutting out the cat will most times create a constant check engine light, unless you use a resistor. Flowmaster 40 series is a great choice and can be installed at any legitimate muffler shop. Also, steer away from the dual exhaust.

Any reason why? I mean not to be odd or anything but running duals on a muscal car helps them crazy good (camaro's, Trans am..)

do you have a V6 or a V8?

dual exhaust ona V6 is pointless and you will lose some bottom end with it.

dual exhaust on a V8 sounds sweet and will give you more power.

I would not gut or cut your cat off. it's on the truck for a reason. I would buy a highflow cat though. and I would either go with a flowmaster 40 or a magnaflow 18" muffler. I have a magnaflow on mine and I love it.

I guess I should have explained myself a little better. Don't run dual 3" all the way back. I would just stay away from the dual all together, unless you are moving a lot more air than stock.

duals will help the engine breathe better especially with the k&n intake. its pointless on 4 and 6 cyl but is good on v8's.
