By the time you visit the dealership, most of them will be above 20k.
take a look at the Corolla and Civic, BASE model starts at 16k, it will be a stick shift with manual windows and door lock, and most of them in the dealer's lot will are above 20k.
However, Dodge usually give heavy rebates compare to the imports. Just look at the chrysler 200.
If I be happy if I can walk out of the door with a RALLYE below 20k from the dealer.

well...u really don't save that much on cars if you buy directly from the factory, and a lot of dealer will drop to price down to few hundred above Invoice to sell a new car. If you are good at negotiating, the dealer profits very little on a new car sale. they make money on selling USED car.
On the contrary, talk about buy directly from the factory, your $60 nike shoe would cost $10. all the Cloths you see that's made in China, the factory sells in it terms of WEIGHT, not pieces. The retail store pays the factory about $5-10 per pound of cloth. even tho they charge you $40 per shirt in the store. If you ever wonder why buy stuff Online is cheaper. Because they eliminate a lot of middle man.

$20,000 seems to be the norm for this segment/class. Same with the chvy sonic and cruze, both fully loaded are around 20k. I won't mind paying a bit more for the dart because of all the supposedly "class exclusive" options. Like that 7 in configurable gauge cluster. It's made by Johnson Controls in Holland, MI and almost 80% identicle to the cluster they make for the corvette.

here is a link for the annouced price. Just add like $2,000 for an Automatic 1.4l Turbo version. I hope Chrysler will throw in Heafy rebates and Low interest financing... other wise, the DART can easily out price the Chrysler 200.
