I stopped by the drive away event today on my way to work and snapped a few pics.

It probably wans't technically open to the public but no one stopped me when I pulled into the driveway.

I'll have to find a file host site to share/link the rest of the pics.

 

So what's a "Drive Away Event"?

 

basically its how dodge is distributing the first batch of darts to the dealers. I believe they are doing 12 such events with about 250 darts at
each event, I believe each dealer gets 1. Suffice it to say the dealers show up and... "Drive Away" with thier show room model.

The first event was monday at texas motor speedway, the second today at the Palace of Auburn hills, MI (where the detroit pistons play).
It just so happens that its on my way to work and i work second shift, so i stopped by.

that explains that! Last weds (6/20) I saw my first 2 darts "in the wild" both red, both with dealer plates. passed one in traffic in Kenton Ohio, (South Bound on 68), the second, an hour or so later pulling out of the Pilot "travel center"(truck stop) in Beaverdam, OH.

but not seen them on the local lots yet. I was wondering how i had missed out on them hitting the dealerships.... now if i could only swing the $$ to buy a new car right now....
