Reverse Lockout ....?
Long story short.
My son is stationed in Germany and has a 2013 Dart.It has the 6 speed manual trans . He went out in it today and found that the reverse lockout is stuck or broken. Its opened and he is afraid of missing first gear and going into reverse at a stop sign or light. I cant find any info on how this linkage works and was wondering if anyone might be able to shed some light on it. I cant fix it beings its in Germany but would like to be able to help explain it to him .Is it a simple fix or is digging deep into the bowls to fix.Any help would be appreciated.

He removed the boot and traced the cable down and said the cable is out of the lever. He is going to take it to the dealer on post and have them fix it .He doesnt think he wants to tackle trying to get the center console out and fix it himself .Its still drivable as long as that reverse lockout lever doesnt fall ,if so he wont get it into reverse . Thanks for all the info it surely helped and gave him a place to start.
