Talking To much oil pressure, 2013 Dart

Hello all, First time poster here so please excuse any dumb stuff I do until I get the hang of this.

I have a 2013 Dodge Dart, 76000 miles. While I was driving and stopped at a stoplight, the o-ring for the oil filter failed and started Spraying all the oil out on the ground. It was spraying out like it was coming from a hose under the car.

Shut it off towed it home and started looking into it.

Dumped oil, new filter. Ready to warm up and check oil, 15 seconds after start up same thing oil filter o-ring failure, split it in half. Loads of pressure I believe.

Anybody ever see this before, my kid drove it the last year and my guess is he didn't change the oil and now oil pressure regulator is gummed up and stuck on full blast.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Jeff from nor-cal

Stick a mechanical gauge on it and verify what the actual pressure is.

Almost 10 year old post, user hasn't been active since posting, I would make a new post asking the question
