No longer displays the Hood Open message - 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye 2.0L
I have a 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye 2.0L with 162,000 miles and it no longer displays the Hood Open message on the dash display when the hood is ajar or open when the car is Remote Started or when started with Key FOB. Also, the stock Base factory Vehicle Theft Security System is NOT triggered by the “Hood Ajar Switch” when the switch is tested manually.
The Vehicle Theft Security System Alarm will trigger if the alarm is armed and the driver door is opened from inside the vehicle.
The 10A Fuse #36 on the BCM tested good. I disconnected the “Hood Ajar Switch” connector at the hood latch switch itself and it tested good as well (The multimeter read 1k Ohm when switch is closed and no resistance when switch is open)
I have NOT tested the wires from the Hood Ajar Switch to the BCM which I suspect is an open circuit or bad connection which is the same as having the hood closed because the “Hood Ajar Switch” is a normally open switch.
I have the Vehicle Theft Security System schematic for the 2013 Dodge Dart and understand how to read the schematic but need a better definition of the inline wire connection symbols and (having trouble locating/finding the additional connections to test) (ie. ”Inline-Dash/Front End Module” connector pin2 between BCM C4 pin8 (“Hood Ajar Switch Sense”) and (“Hood Ajar Switch” pin1 VT/DB colored wire)
Also, (having trouble locating/finding) the (“Inline-Dash/Front End Module” connector pin3) between BCM C6 pin52 and the Hood Ajar Switch “sensor ground wire” pin2 VT/BR colored wire.
(Having trouble locating/finding the “Sensor Ground” connection “SG931” from BCM C6 pin52 to Hood Ajar Switch pin2 VT/BR colored wire)
(Having trouble locating/finding connection(“A1“ at the “Inline-Body/Dash 2”) connector between BCM C6 pin52 to Hood Ajar Switch pin2 VT/BR colored wire)
