My first reply has links to the vacuum diagrams for the 88 motors, so pick the one that is for your vehicle and use it. If the links for some reason don't work use the "Repair Info" section of the AutoZone website to find the diagram for your car.

had same problem replaced the temperature sensor that sends signal to computer fixed problem.problem came back replaced sensor again problem solved. make sure you ask for the sensor that sends signal to computer.

hmmm have you checked the IAC valve (idle air valve)?
Thats the first thing I thought of when the problem was described. Especially after sitting. I am sure the IAC motor is gunked up. Vac distrobution block from FWDperformace will make any re-routing of vac lines a breeze.
