Default neutral safety switch wiring.

I'm wiring up the neutral safety switch into the car that used to std, now automatic, Because right now it can start when its in gear. It says in the haynes manual that the wire on the switch is ground and goes to the starter solenoid. But the starter is already grounded because it bolts to the block which is grounded. Maybe I'm missing something obvious here. Guys got any suggestion/comments?!?!
Thanks

Both of my Shelby Z's could be started in gear without the clutch. I have no idea what the differences are between the auto and the manual that would make the difference.

I can't get this darn thing on the road unless I get the safety switch hooked up, because It needs to pass the gov. safety.
