Default possibly buying a shelby, need advice....

well guys im new here and i might be buying my first car......im 16 and a guy i work with has a 1989 shelby for sale, it has a new 2.2 turbo in it with a 5 speed. it needs a new paint job but i work at an autobody shop so thats no problem. mechanically its solid and very little rust. i only got a quick look at it just to check for rust and make sure it runs, which it does. this friday im going to get a better look at it and look it over really well. i would like to know what areas i should look at in this car. any special problems they had which i should be aware of? he only wants around $600 because he needs to get rid of it ASAP due to finantial problems......let me know..thanks...

he actually only wanted $500 for the car but he said for an extra hundred he would throw in a jensen motorized flip out head unit with a 7' touchscreen monitor. sooooo thats not too bad of a deal right there..... and it is pearl white. id like to change it to red or black though when i re paint it.....

Just check for the usuall oil leaks and stuff like that. Just look the car over well. 8 valve cars dont really have to many quirks you have to look for like the 16V. Take it for a good test drive, make sure you do atleast one WOT pull, just to make sure things are ok. If he has a problem with you doing WOT pulls, I would be worried. Keep us updated, and post some pics!
