Shelby Z still having issues...........
As alot of you guys know I picked this car up early this summer. Its looking like more of a winter project for now, but I've been tinkering trying to get it up and going. The car was dead when I purchased it and had been sitting 5 years. I drained the tank, put in new fuel. Changed the fuel pump to a new one. Put in a new cap, rotor, and hep. Changed the stock coil to an accel super street coil. All new plugs and wires. The injectors are spraying fine and fuel pressure is correct. Every cylinder has 130-135 lbs. of compression. The car will start and run, but has a very hard miss in cylinders #1 and #2. At idle you can pull the plug wire completely off the plug and it makes no difference in how the engine is running. But in the high RPMs it seems to smooth out and have power. The wires are producing a spark to all cylinders and every cylinder is getting fuel. I changed out the computer behind the passenger side kick panel, no change. Just for a note, the exhaust is getting extremely hot, not turning red, but hot enough to get the area around the spare tire very warm. I know this sounds like a timing issue.........what should I do from this point, or what do you all recommend?
I would check the timing on the distributor, if that isnt off, check it at the timing belt. Mine was off a whole 2 teeth, and I couldnt notice anything substantial. Get a timing light from a mechanic, or I believe you can buy them at advanced.. Not sure, but, that would be a good thing to do.

I've tried it there, I'm thinking possibly with the teeth issue. Anyone ever hear of a head going bad causing this? Temp runs in fine around 1/4 of the gauge with a 180* t-stat, its not overheating or oil in water or vice versa..........
