Default hinge pin in door problems

I have a 1990 daytona. Is it a common problem for the hinge pins in the doors to go bad? My drivers side door needs a new pin I was told. You have to lift up on the door tp close it.

Common no, but it does happen. The best thing you can do is keep the hinges lubed so they don't wear so fast. Changing the hinge pins sux.

My drivers side door doesnt even open from the outside! I think daytona driver side doors are cursed. I went to a junk yard and they had 2 and on both of them the d.s. doors only opened from inside.

mine does it to and I have a 93 only the driver though... crazy though huh, I think it is actually due to something in the locks because when you use the inside it automaticallyunlocks the door I will test my theory today and post results tomorrow

Two different problems. Exterior door latch is a cheap casting. After years of use the lever doesn't move the latch mechanism far enough. You can try and adjust the rod inside the door, but it usually only fixes it for a couple of months. Go to Chrysler parts counter and get a new exterior handle. Interior handle has a seperate rod, and it never seems to wear out.

Sagging is due to the heavy weight and length of the doors. Hinge pin might fix it, but you can usually see the whole hinge assembly flexing where it bolts to the body. No good, simple, fix for it.

Just my experience. Sorry to be so long winded.
