Hey I just bought a 1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby Turbo. it does'nt run like a top.... but i'm trying to get the turbo to work better then it's working now... right now at full exceleration it get's about 5 of boost. and a tottal iddle it'sabout halfway down on the vacum side. now im pretty sure that this car has'nt been taken care of amayzingly. so i would like to know how to get a turbo rebuild kit... if i need one. and how to check if i do need one. and the name of the turbo in question... cuzz i cant seem to find one online for sale... so yeah any help would be apreciated... with generall problems and stuff like that thanks.

^^What he said. They will get you fixed up! You will be able to find all of the info you need as far as rebuilding and FWD performance (on of their vendors) can have the turbo redone for you.You will also have no problem finding a good used T2 turbo for sale on there.

Hope that helps.

Thanks! i did go to that site and their is alot of usfull stuff their... but i found my problem it was a vacum line that was put in the wrong spot. and so now i'm running about 12 pounds and the engine runs way quieter... and way f***ing faster... so i'm happy. Gotta love td's
BUT considering i did want a T2... or a T3... or such... how do i know it fit's on my ride... and do i have to mode the exhaust in any way... such as would i have to increase pipe size... cuzz i'm going to try to go to 2 1/2 inch pipe... (hopfully)... will that hinder my turbo... or make me have to change it?

NO 3" pipe will wake that car up! The turbo is all the backpressure you will ever need. If you can, ditch the cat. Its good for about 25whp. Upgrading the exhaust is about the best thing you can do to a turbo car.

Hey, no problem. Thats what we are here for is to learn. Cat is catalitic converter. Its a huge restriction on the exhaust. Even the "high flow" ones. And you were right on with the whp.

so i had an idea... on my exahust setup... what about puting a y in my setup before the cat.... and then just a straight pipe from there so i could switch from ... regular exahust setup. to extremely loud and fast setup...(ilegally) haha... good idea or bad?
