Default Sputtering, Acts like starving for gas.. I'm stumped along with 3 mechanics

It's a 89 Daytona ES 2.5L 4cyl one owner (my aunt) been taken good care of. But the car set for around 8 years and the fuel pump died and it had jumped time some how so i had an old le barron and used parts (I.E. the fuel pump and throttle body) off of it to try to fix the problem.. i also put a new timing belt on it with no luck of fixing the problem I also have replaced the fuel filter.. no luck It still stalls out and acts like its running out of gas when it gets close to 3500 RPM anything below that i runs like a new car... its a 5-speed and has some small vacuume line broke as well... I need some major help and i'm hoping you guys can give it to me.. anything yo need to know just ask me...

Take the valve cover off and take a look at the cam it might be cracked. When the cam started to go on my 2.5L it acted like a rev limiter near 3500rpm.
